With lyrics that focus on how we won’t see real change until we see policy change, the song is a soft and dreamy folk meditation that also feels like something of a protest song. The comforting and sunny tone of the ukulele serves as an intriguing contrast to subject matter that is anything but. At a time when the world is in flux and people are demanding change, “My Ally” serves as a fitting anthem. -Glide Magazine 2021

Everest Cale started in 2012 with the release of the Beast under the management of EIPR. The record was recorded by Joe Colmenero at the Cutting Room, in the heart of NYC. The title song "Beast" was a quick favorite, with an indie rock sound, and enthralling lyrics. Tracks such as "Goodbye" and "Place We Know As Home" were reminiscent of singer Brett Treacy's time as a singer songwriter. The record's second single "The Ocean" deals with lost love and was immediately licensed to a tv pilot.
